Paul Fleming
Paul Fleming: We're saddened to learn that Beverley Town cricketer Paul Fleming has passed away after a 15 month battle with cancer. Paul was a very respected player at Beverley. Y&DSCL CEO Rob Richtering said ''I had a lot of time for Paul. Whenever you visted Norwood, Paul would always make you feel welcome, and was  genuinely pleased to see you. I'm really saddened to hear this news. I knew his mum Pam quite well through her time as Secretary at Beverley Town CC, and my heart goes out to her and the rest of Paul's family and friends at this terribly sad time. We really have lost a good person''. Pauls funeral service will be held at Haltemprice Crematorium in Willerby on Thursday 2 March at 4.30pm.
Paul's family are raising money for Ward 120 at Hull Royal Infirmary and Ward 32 at the Queens Centre for Oncology and Haematology at Castle Hill Hospital in Cottingham. Please make a donation by clicking here

He was heavily involved in the development of the recently demolished pavilion putting in many hours hard work to see the club achieve early success in the York Senior League.

The possible changes will be discussed as a direct recommendation from the Yorkshire Cricket Board's Cricket Development Manager for East Yorkshire. Clubs in Hull and East Yorkshire  with junior sections who are currently not members of the league are cordially invited to attend the meeting.

DAVE RIPPON STANDS DOWN: Osbaldwick CC’s David Rippon has, after 45 years as club secretary, decided it is time to hand over the secretarial reins at the clubs AGM. Dave took over the secretary post when the club entered the YDSCL in 1972 and after over taking Sessay’s Brian Flintoff as the League’s longest serving secretary in 2013 has now decided the time is right to step down. As well as his long standing presence in the York cricket arena, he also played professional rugby league for over 20 years with first York and then Batley, Dave or ‘Rip’ has been a well known face on the York sport scene for well over 50 years.Rip was best known for his leadership skills on the pitch, and as a wicket keeper and lower order batsman and also for his ability to socialise with his many adversaries after the game. Something which is sadly lacking in this more modern era of the game. CLICK HERE FOR FULL STORY

SCARBOROUGH'S JOHN DODDS PICKS UP TOP GROUNDSMAN AWARD - Congratulations to John Dodds  who has picked up the ECB award for the best outground pitches. It is the fourth time in five years that John has collected this award for his work at North Marine Road.

YLN / Y&DSCL UPDATE ON PLAY-CRICKET - Following an agreement reached with the ECB both the Hunters ECB Yorkshire Premier League North, and the Hunters York & District Senior Cricket League (including the Conference) will be using play-cricket for all administration with immediate effect. The play-cricket platform is currently undergoing a raft of changes that will culminate with the facility to collect ground marks etc. We currently use 4 platforms, which is both complicated and in some cases time consuming to both League & Club administrators and play-cricket will allow us bring all these functions together on one website.
